About the team

The mission of Global Analytics is to lead HEINEKEN into becoming a data-driven company and the best-connected brewer. As a team, we radiate a data-driven entrepreneurial culture to the rest of the company. We act as an incubator for smart data products in all areas of business - from sales to logistics and from marketing to purchasing. This approach has allowed us to grow rapidly and launch many value-creating use cases from management of spare parts to allocation of media spending. Our focus for the upcoming year is to scale and deploy our analytics solutions across the globe.


Our team consists of Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Business Intelligence Specialists, and Analytics Translators.

Our Data Engineers build data platforms and ensure data access. Business Intelligence specialists enable interaction and insights in our data products. Finally, Analytics Translators help business ensure the solution is fit for purpose by bridging the gap between the teams. Our global perspective has led the team to have presence across three continents and five countries, with satellite teams in South Africa, Poland, India, and Singapore. We truly are a “Global” analytics team.

Your role at HEINEKEN


You’re natural in dealing with complex issues in a fast and high-pressure environment. Because of the high degree of change and development, it is important that you are pragmatic and able to view issues from new perspectives.


As a Data Engineer you will be responsible:

  • Designing, developing, testing, deploying and monitoring data pipelines;
  • Analyze, transform and organize huge and complex datasets ingested from different data sources;
  • Optimizing data delivery processes and improving data quality in developed data products;
  • Work in multi-disciplinary agile teams with full responsibility to develop, maintain and support data products and applications in production environment;
  • Align and collaborate with platform architects in (re)designing infrastructure for new platform functionalities.

Are we looking for you?

  • You have at least 4+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering;
  • BSc or MSc in Computer science, Engineering or relevant field;
  • Experience in building ETL data pipelines;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of big data frameworks and technologies (ex. Spark);
  • Proficient in writing complex SQL for distributed data lake systems (ex. Spark SQL, Synapse Serverless SQL);
  • Python development experience with: clear coding style, unit testing, git, CI/CD pipelines;
  • Experience and skills for configuring and developing solutions with following Azure technologies: Databricks, Data Factory, DevOps, data lake storage, Synapse Analytics, Functions, Logic Apps, Monitor, Container Instance, Azure Kubernetes Service;
  • Knowledge and experience with REST APIs within a data architecture environment;
  • Experience with batch and near real-time data processing solutions;
  • Proven understanding of data management, data warehouse models, data file formats, secure data access, data storages principles;
  • Knowledge of the security capabilities, security groups and data access controls in Azure Cloud;
  • Knowledge of data platforms in data mesh organization;
  • Experience with DevOps way of working;
  • Experience with containerization technologies (eg. Docker and Kubernetes);
  • Value-driven and pragmatic mind-set: focus on getting a result in an agile manner;
  • Knowledge of basic components and functionalities of Azure ML workspace;
  • Familiarity with data visualization, datasets and data flows in PowerBI;
  • Experience working with Helm charts and AWS Cloud services (Cognito, EKS) is a plus;
  • Experience in developing analytical models with DBT is a big plus;
  • Familiarity with: SAP S/4HANA and SAP Data Intelligence Cloud environment is also a plus;
  • Fluent in English.
